Fantastic, tasty, super tasty eating but shocking, very slow service. terrible waiting time. just three waiters for over 40 tables. wait for the net, wait for the drinks, wait for the pudding, wait for the bill...Waiting, wait. super friendly and courteous staff (then you can only not cope with so many commands. where is the management, where is the owner?
Great stop on a long journey. Fantastic squid stater and scampi main course. My ciabatta BLT was OK. Friendly service and clean toilets.
We stayed nearby for 2 nights and ate at the Wheatstone both nights. Nice menu added to with a specials, so good choice. Big plates of food which was pretty good, perhaps a tad light on flavour, bye well cooked and presented. Highlights both nights were our 2 servers Mike and then Niall. Both were bright, efficient, helpful and friendly. We are in our 70,s and in the process of moving so were tired but both helped perk us up! Thank you both
