The bar / tavern had screaming, loud customers on a day when there was no one around. Really a tasting menu, teen plate, teen servings, bad value for money. The waitress told me that the green peppers in my clam chowder were mild - they weren't and had to spit out with a burning mouth. Really embarrassing when I was treated. Instead, they gave me asparagus. Your only vegetable. They didn't notice that my water glass was empty and I had to request it. Backless benches to sit in the tavern / bar, but you can request an uncomfortable chair. Not a place where you, like me, eat a lot of healthy protein and vegetables. I don't like leaving a restaurant where I feel bloated with too much food, but I don't want to go hungry either. The coffee was good after the meal.

Scallops cooked perfectly, sauce not very aromatic, chased the small amount of peas around the plate. Beet platter was good. Tuna poke had strings of supposedly kelp salad, fries were sparse and not wasabi powder. If more chips were requested, the answer was "not sure but will be checked". Return with 4 chips. It seemed pretty strange that the smoked bluefish and avocado toast was served with bluefish on one toast and avocado on the other.

Our server s... read more At the reservation, when asked about an occasion for our visit, I mentioned birthday. I saw it written on our ticket yet it was never acknowledged. Our server seemed to be preoccupied with something other than our table. There was another server for the tables adjacent to ours who was around much more frequently. Ours rarely acknowledged me, and focused on my partner. He got my wine wrong and argued with me about it. He gave us our bill without asking if we wanted anything else and when we ordered coffee, seemed irritated we ordered something else. That being said, the food was good. I would visit again if in the area and hope for a different staff experience. I almost forgot about the surcharge. There is a 3% restaurant surcharge added to the bill. If you read the fine print on the menu, they will remove it if asked. If you don't, they won't mention it. Maybe that's what restaurants are doing now but shady practices in my opinion. I wouldn't normally punish staff because of restaurant policies, but because of our experience this visit, I just deducted 3% from the tip

It was busy (usually is) and noise level was pretty high. Our server was helpful and happily took our group photo.

I requested a quiet table and they did acknowledged my requ... read more We had a reservation at Wildfire (glenview) on a rainy Sunday 5:45 PM as always, the place was busy! I requested a quiet table and they did acknowledged my request by putting us in a smaller, quieter room. I had the bison burger w/grilled onions and creamed spinach as a side, instead of french fries. My husband had the turkey burger. Everything was delicious! The service was friendly and attentive. This restaurant is always packed. When we arrived at 5:45pm, the restaurant was full and almost every table was finishing their meal already. As we exited, we walked through the crowd of waiting customers waiting for tables to turn over. Recommend you make a reservation at least a day in advance.
