Experience at this eclectic, creative eatery was a mixed bag. While standout dishes like brisket, Korean BBQ ribs, and Gouda Mac and Cheese impressed, some items like vegan chicken parm and taco meat fell flat. With friendly service, delicious hummus, and vast menu options, guests could expect a slightly elevated casual dining experience. However, some missed marks, like overcooked proteins and Italian dishes, showed inconsistencies in the kitchen. Despite some service hiccups, patrons appreciated the cozy atmosphere and outstanding sides like maple-stuffed cornbread. We decided to have a random date night in the middle of a thunderstorm. I haven't been to kitchen 519 in a while and the dinner made me wonder why it's been so long. While I had the pastalaya, with crab, shrimp, mussels and boar sausage, she had crab cake sliders, and we ordered 4 small sides. The mains were great, but the sides were amazing. Maple stuffed cornbread, charred broccoli au gratin were the ones were couldn't stop eating. Smoked Mac solid as ever, and the sweet potato skillet was very tasty. All sides were only $4 a side. Finished the night with smoked apple pie with sweet corn ice cream. We might have been stuffed, but we both couldn't say no to that. Our server was great. He didn't like how the cornbread came out, and got us another. We honestly wouldn't have known, but there was a difference when he brought out the replacement. We'll be back, and can't wait to try more!
Food was great the waiter was outstanding. He took the time to explain all specials also very friendly.
Excellent food! Hidden gem in SJ. Looking forward to trying many more dishes.
My good friend took me here for lunch after church. We were greeted and seated right away. The waiter was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The food was plated well and the taste was superb. There are so many things on the menuthat I would like to try so I definitely will be back!
