The mushroom gnocchi is excellent as is the Wagyu burger! Turmeric chai with almond milk. Great food, value for money and friendly customer service in a a clean and comfortable environment. We will be back. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Whyte Cafe:
This is where the English language comes to die. Predominantly patronized by the pre apartheid South Africans, the kitchen supplies a steady flow of slop fit for a less discerning clientele. I imagine it does wonders for some but not jose. The foot draging service and lukewarm brew they call coffee leaves a lot of room for improvement. It used to be called something else before. Nicer then. View all feedback.
Despite rave reviews on here, I was less than enthused about the food, nor the coffee.
This was the second time I've been it has a really nice atmosphere I was impressed with the good selection of cakes, muffins
Good coffee, food is okay, service is a bit haphazard. Nice area out back, but front part is not that nice. Just okay
Last visited this venue in August'2016 , nothing much has changed here! Ambience is very dark dim, coffee is hot & served after placing order several minutes prior even though not at all busy!Staff not overly friendly & perform the basics necessary. Noticed fresh flowers on bench which is an improvement, papers available, if planning a staff Christmas function suggest trying elsewhere, you might be disappointed! Keep on trying ! Pete
This venue lacks some ambience , however service was extremely quick & coffee even better, water was automaticly provided without having to be requested, papers & magazines abound , plenty of Seating inside and for smokers outside as well , which is well sheltered/heated in addition ! Next time when time permits a brunch/lunch will be the order of the day, with other clients having the same , looked really good , many thanks ,Peter
