Description

Roxborough in Acland Street is a new addition to the dining scene, stemming from the beloved Fiztrovia in Fitzroy. The overall consensus is that the food is quite pleasant, with notable dishes like polenta chips and gnocchi receiving high praise. However, there have been some hiccups in terms of availability of menu items and flavors not meeting expectations. Customer service has also been a mixed bag, with some guests feeling less than thrilled by the attention to detail. On the other hand, there have been shining moments where the wait staff went above and beyond to accommodate large groups and make guests feel welcome. The cozy atmosphere and attentive service have left many patrons eager to return, appreciating the quality of food and the overall dining experience at Roxborough.

All round worth while. Service good, food very good, atmosphere nice. Good fire! And not too expensive. We would go back.

We dropped in after reading the reviews, ready for gnocchi however were salivating over the whole menu which was mouthwatering from top to bottom. This is a beautiful restaurant and the staff are exceptional. Not to mention the gnocchi which we finally settled on -best ever.

We had lunch at Roxborough after getting married and it was absolutely perfect. The food was amazing and everyone fell in love with the wait staff who were not fazed by everyone changing seats after ordering or a baby walking around between people! There were 21 of us and we took up most of the restaurant so the staff closed the front door letting us enjoy their space without other guests. This wasn't something we had asked for or discussed but it was a lovely touch! Thanks everyone for a fantastic experience, we'll be back again!

2 had the lamb shoulder roast with Yorkshire pudding, roast vegetables and potatoes cooked in duck fat - nothing left on the plate. 1 had the chicken, leek and ham hock pie - yum!! We shared a dessert which was fabulous and several glasses of wine. Great service and excellent food. Compared with pub meals which may be several dollars cheaper, great value for money here. For a small place, you could actually hear each other talk without competing with others!! Would totally recommend this for lunch or dinner for anyone.
