I've never given a one star and thought about zero but doesn't seem you can do it This is a sports centre so fast fried food the staple and being a large venue with games scheduled to commence from 9.40 on a Friday night you'd expect they'd service the community So having paid money to park , queue to pay both player and spectator fees , then for players to be told they cannot stretch on the rear of courts plus the cafe closed nor any vending machines I reckon this is about the worst place I've ever been No soul , no atmosphere - an austere venue that doesn't qualify to be on this site Unless your here for a ball game don't venture off the street just because it was a commonwealth games venue Knock it down and build a centre where the public are encouraged to participate in sporting pastimes without being pillagedat the gate Shame basketball Victoria and centre managers

Given this is the cafe in a sports centre you probably would not expect a decent coffee. Well, be surprised, as you can get a good coffee here almost all the time. The breakfast wrap, WELL TOASTED is pretty good and the rolls and fresh and usually good. The boxed sandwiches can get a bit a soggy. Overall, not bad for an after the gym or swim coffee

Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre is the place to be for r all kinds of sports and fitness.

I have visited this cafe at least five times and I believe today was my last. Regardless of who is serving or what day of the week it is, the service is consistently poor. The staff is inattentive, the prices are high, and the food is mediocre. Three out of five times my order (coffee) has been forgotten, and every time my order has taken an unacceptable amount of time to arrive. Be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes for a simple coffee, and even longer if you order food. I will not be returning. It is disappointing that such a great location has unprofessional staff running the cafe.

Today, there were seven people working at the café, but a simple coffee order took over 25 minutes, and the coffee tasted terrible. None of the employees seemed happy to be there, and most of them were just standing around while a long line of customers waited to place their orders. There were two registers for taking orders, but only one person was working. The man who took our order didn't greet us, didn't get the order right, and seemed uninterested in helping us. This has been a consistent issue, as the customer service at this café has always been poor. The café is the only option for food or coffee in a large sporting complex, so they have a guaranteed customer base. Despite this, the service has never improved, even during busy events. It's clear that the owners need to address these issues, as the current situation is not acceptable. They should consider selling the café if they are not committed to running it properly, encourage unhappy staff to find new jobs, and focus on hiring skilled baristas and improving overall customer service.
