When travelling to Sydney, I often stay in Gladesville with family, so have tried a number of the great restaurants along Victoria Road. Chilli Jam is one of my favourites. Have been a number of times in the past twelve months and always good. Service is friendly, prices reasonable and the money bags, massaman beef and chicken pad thai are wonderful. When shopping all day in the City it is great to hop off the bus an... View all feedback.
What Salvatore Borer doesn't like about Chilli Jam - Gladesville:
Terrible customer service, terrible staff. Took 6 calls to get through and then the lady had to ask me to repeat my order 5 times because she kept speaking with someone else. Our food wasn't delivered after 90mins despite constant assurances that it would be a maximum of 60mins. When we called to check where our food was, it took 9 calls to get through then finally she said she did not have our order but we could canc... View all feedback.
Quick dinner on a sunday nightPlace was pretty quiet when we got in there was only 3 other groups in there.
Simple, really good, no surprises Thai food. I've been to the restaurant a few times, and ordered it at home via Menulog, and have never had a bad
Met a group here for dinnerService was fairly patchy with our group waiting for a waiter on more than one occasion.
I love eating out more than I love my own family, and I’m sure they’d agree! Which is why I always hold out hope when trying out a new restaurant. But here at Phat Thai I was worried I had a complete disaster on my...More
Heard about the not so good reviews of this place from a friend but thought of giving it a try anyway. Went there for lunch.Place was not busy and the 3 wait staff were sitting down busy wrapping spring rolls or money bags. Had to get their attention to place our orders. We ordered gra prao gai (minced chicken stir fried with holy basil, garlic and chilli), chicken vegetable stir fry in oyster sauce, pineapple fried rice and massamun curry. There was hardly any basil in the gra pray gai and neither was there any heat. The chicken with vegetable stir fry is just standard fare and more Chinese than Thai. The pineapple fried rice had some appeal and tasted quite delicious. However, the grains of rice were broken and slightly mushy. The beef in the curry was tender but the over powering cinnamon in the curry masks the delicate tastes of the other spices. Overall, the food was heavily seasoned with salt and sugar. The distinctive Thai flavours of chillies, kaffir lime leaves or lemon grass with the balance of sweet, sour, heat and aroma fail to deliver. Very much adulterated to suit Aussie tastes, really unlike the food in Thailand.
