Cilento - Gillette
Cilento
Description
This family-run Italian spot in Long Hill serves authentic, homemade pasta and standout dishes like ravioli amid a warm, community-driven atmosphere. Owners and staff often deliver welcoming service, craft beers, and private-event options. However, experiences can vary: guests report inconsistent service, forgotten orders, undercooked or misassembled plates, and some appetizers that seem not homemade. Expect comforting traditional flavors and a friendly vibe most nights, but be prepared for occasional lapses in food execution and front-of-house reliability.

This place has the worst mosquito problem, waitress gave a nasty look and provided sub par service. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
I have never written a review on google but have to because we had such a great experience with Cilento's. We had a Celebration of Life luncheon on Saturday 6/29 for my mother and father in-law and the food was delicious!!! The owners were so flexible and easy to work with, and the room we used was private and just the perfect size. If you have an event, I would highly recommend checking them out!! Thank you Sam and Gigi!!! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We went to Bar Cilento as a family of four with little kids. Our experience was terrific from the staff being friendly and very accommodating with our stroller, to understanding the importance of quickly serving children! They also had crayons, paper, and toy cars for the kids, which was a life saver. Food was also very good, we had the vegetable risotto, gnocchi, and also ordered burgers. They also have an outdoor wood fired pizza oven, but I have yet to have it. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Came here for a late dinner, ordered their regular burger which comes with lettuce, tomato and onion as specified by on their menu. When my burger arrived I was surprised to see that it was not only missing all the toppings but also mis-cooked (ordered a medium well, came out closer to medium rare. and the bun not toasted at all, the bun was still soaking up blood from the undercooked patty. (As seen in photo Very disappointing as the slavic lady waitress was more aggressive and annoyed by the fact that we spoke up instead of shutting our mouth and paying for it. Horrible behavior by somebody who is supposed to represent this business. Wasn’t my first time coming here, had many beautiful memories and dinners but this is certainly my last. A big thank you to Sam and Gigi for making my luncheon such a hit! My husband and I hosted a bridal shower party for 40 guests on 'the patio ' last Saturday afternoon, and it was picture perfect. Once everyone arrived, appetizers were served family style, with generous platters of Gigi 's meatballs (so good, iykyk), calamari, and burrata crostini set down at each table. Next came the house salad, then guests had a choice of 3 entrees. Our menu had a selection of homemade ravioli, salmon with sauteed spinach and mashed potatoes, or chicken piccata in a lemon caper sauce with a potato cake: delicious. The menu included soft drinks, cafe Americano, tea, and we opted to offer guests wine or beer if they wished. It was just a lovely day, sunny and 70s, and the lush patio with its array of potted plants and trees and blooms was the perfect summery setting. Sam and Gigi provided beautiful table cloths and napkins, a long table for gifts and raffles, and an outstanding menu. Menu cards were very pretty, designed by Sam and Gigi 's daughter, and there was one at each place. Every guest who had never been to Bar Cilento is planning on coming back. My girlfriends want to meet there for lunch regularly. The food is excellent, and my 100% Italian aunt complimented Gigi on everything! As a Cilento regular, I have my super fave servers, and we were well taken care of by Kevin, Tanya, and a shout out to Sean who was on his third day working there and was a terrific understudy to his awesome senior staffers. All I had to do was show up, put flowers on the table, and have the sheet cake refrigerated. It was hassle free, and my daughter in law loved it as much as the guests. It is a warm and welcoming place to have a family party. Thank you everyone at Bar Cilento. Anne W
