I acknowledge that, as a vegetarian, I might not have picked the best options at a Mexican restaurant. I can't recommend this place for vegetarians.

The difference might be due to our visit to Chandler, where we were a group of eight during the busy weekday lunch rush. In contrast, we went to Gilbert on a Sunday around 3 PM. We were seated right away, and our server was with us just a minute or two later. The food arrived quickly and was served hot. My cousin, who was visiting from New York and loves authentic Mexican food, was very pleased with both the service and the meal.
