Gotta try those guy fieri restaurant suggestions. Drove here while staying in Occidental and it was a treat. The minestrone soup was awesome. The ambiance was quaint. The staff was so friendly and you felt like part of the in crowd. Large portions and the person that took our order new every detail of what you ordered. I did see the owner and was star struck and didn't get any photos of her.
For years, this was always a 5 star experience for both food and service. We went for dinner on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 and honestly if that was the first time we went there we would never have gone back. We were seated and it took forever for wait staff to greet us. We ordered and the food also took much longer than normal. When my pasta dish arrived, it was prepared differently than normal. The pasta to sauce ratio was different and the flavors weren?t what they normally are. We ordered a dessert to share and after more than 15 minutes asked what the delay was. The manager came over and apologized and said they accepted a large party of 17 for the Rafanellis without a reservation and that affected everything. No offer to expedite the dessert or anything else. So, we asked for our check and left. I?m not sure that I will be back. And, I?m a little sad about that. What was a consistently wonderful experience became a serious disappointment on all fronts, service and quality of food.
