Wonderful experience from the moment we walked through the door. The food is well prepared and the portions are large but not overwhelming. The server was attentive without being intrusive. The tables are a little close together so I would not say this is a romantic evening location. I would definitely go back here. View all feedback.

After a tour through Gettysburg we wanted to continue the historical feeling and get a table at Dobbin House Tavern. By leaving the cold into the reception area with the wood burning fireplace gave an immediate warmth of body and mind. All employees are dressed in the period and the restaurant makes you feel like you are back in the late 1700s. The freshly baked breads were delicious, the French onion soup was incredible, and even the salads were fresh. I had the catch of the day (salmon) that came with potatoes, but I upgraded to delicious Brussels shoots. My mom had a crab cake she shaved. With just enough space, we split a homemade piece of Pecan Pier with some whipped cream that was the perfect end of an incredible meal. The service was also phenomenal. And then we visited the area that served as part of the subway. Very recommended to eat here!
Arrival on Wednesday night after reservation on Tuesday. Very interesting atmosphere that is illuminated to improve the old time experience of this historic location. The staff was very friendly and explained all questions about the menu with detail. For the drinks, but the appetizers came fast. Main course was good, but not great. Overall experience was just ok for the price. The history and background of the place make it a must when you are from the city.
Great place to dinning after the time trip in Gettysburg. Have eaten a few times at the bottom of the tavern. Always good food and very interesting atmosphere. Only disappointment of this visit was their tap line not working. Very recommended. A ton of history about The Dobbin House. Good to wait for a table.
Dobbin House has a great atmosphere and really good food! Our server, Nikki, was top notch! Although the restaurant was busy and they did not stop, they made sure that we had everything we needed and had a great personality. Make sure you go upstairs after dinner. There is a small museum that shows where slaves were hidden during the subway. Fantastic story!
We had an early dinner here in the tavern. We both had the daily special ?Beef Stroganoff?. It was DELICIOUS!!! It?s a very cute, quaint old tavern. Friends went yesterday. They had a 1-hour wait to be seated and that and the slow service caused them to have a 2 ½ hour lunch. WE were seated in about 10 minutes and didn?t have slow service at all. We liked the place and I would recommend it. Cute, fun, and terrific food!
