Beautiful experience, from the time we pulled into the parking lot. The food was delicious, I love the table touch making sure we were okay. Our waitress knew the menu and gave great suggestions. What Steve doesn't like about Southern Social:
The salmon was dry and tasteless. Husband's fried chicken was tasteless and over cooked. The green beans were tasteless. Mac and cheese probably was good when prepared at noon. You need a new chef. Our second bad meal within 3 weeks. Why I need to pay a valet to park my car 30 feet from the back door is beyond me. Always a vibe!! Love the valet parking. Call in advance for reservations. Great place for a ladies night out or date night. Food is always delicious and the staff is amazing. Great place to take pictures while enjoy your friends and family. Go ahead and make reservations, you will be pleased.
We took our youngest son to eat at Southern Social (he once worked there about 2 years ago). The staff that were there when he worked there were thrilled to see him again and they even printed special menus for our dinner. These are the things that help Southern Social get the 5th star! We had the Bacon Gouda Fondue as an appetizer and it was delicious. The pita was just the right thickness to keep it crispy but sturdy enough to dip in the smoked gouda. My wife and son had the Harvest salad while I enjoyed the classic wedge. Each salad was fresh and tasty, with just the right amount of dressing. For our entrees, our son had Aunt Thelma's Fried Chicken, my wife enjoyed the Eggplant Parmesan Ravioli and I had the Blackened Shrimp Pasta. Each entrée was delicious just the right temperature and seasoned perfectly. All of the entrees came out just after we finished our salads, so the pace of the food delivery was excellent. Our son ordered the Southern Strawberry Cake and he thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife commented that it had the freshest strawberry taste of anything other than a fresh strawberry! Overall, the service was excellent. Kiley was our primary server and she was excellent very knowledgeable of the menu and gave great tips and advice. We absolutely enjoyed our dinner Southern Social is one of our all time favorites in the Memphis area. They always take great care of us!

I had a fantastic experience at Aunt Thelma's Fried Chicken. The crispy skin and tender, juicy meat made for an exciting meal reminiscent of Sunday dinners at my grandparents' house. The mac and cheese was perfectly cooked and deliciously cheesy. The service at Southern Social was excellent, with our waitress checking on us frequently and offering recommendations. The atmosphere was lovely and perfect for a girls' night out.
Another great Memphis dining experience! I have had the pleasure of dining at Southern Social several times, and each time it gets better and better. From the shrimp and grits, to the Seabass, to the fried chicken there is not a meal that misses at Southern Social.
