Tejas Meat Supply - Georgetown
Tejas Meat Supply
Description
Nestled in a bustling market area, this butcher-restaurant hybrid offers an inviting atmosphere, friendly service, and an excellent selection of beers on tap. However, patron experiences reveal a stark contrast between the appealing environment and culinary execution. While sandwiches like the brisket and pastrami have earned praise for quality ingredients, many dishes have been disappointing in texture and temperature, leaving diners frustrated. Though some rave about standout options like the Georgetown melt and Cuban sandwich, the overall consistency remains elusive. With its fresh meat offerings and potential for improvement, this venue certainly has room to grow.

I love this place. The meat is high quality and Steele is an amazing host. Get the Georgetown melt or the Turkey BLT they are our favorites!Update:I still love this place. We got some A5 waygu here and omg it was so good!
Great place. We pass this place all the time and finally went in. Very good sandwiches. It’s a butcher shop also so I have to try that. A bit of a wait but we were told when we ordered. They cut the meat for each order so I expected a bit of time. Well worth the wait. The Cuban was excellent. I’m going back to try the others.
I expected so much more!!So excited to try this place since we saw it on the Square. Sadly, it was a disappointment.Being half butcher and restaurant, I expected a badass meat options but was left with sad, dry sandwiches. Weirdly, like the other comments, took a long time.I wanted a big fresh steak to show off their meat, NONE.I wanted a big pork chop, maybe double bone, NOPE.I wanted a nice smoked chicken, FAIL. According to the human cell phone stand at the counter, they have been out for a while with no time frame of return.Ok, ok, can I get a half or full cow for the freezer? NEGATIVE! The manager is the only butcher and he is busy with the restaurant. His words. So they resell from other major online meat brokers. So Much Potential!!
The sandwiches looked appealing but ultimately didn’t live up to expectations. The Turkey BLT had a noticeable turkey flavor, but the bacon was Canadian-style—soft instead of crispy. My wife ordered the chicken, which she found tough and chewy, almost like leather, and oddly enough, it tasted like it had a hair in it. The meal comes with a bag of chips, and the total was $11. It also took about 15-20 minutes to prepare. While the presentation was nice, the taste didn’t match up. On the bright side, they serve Texas Pride beer on draft, which definitely helped wash down the sandwich. We chose this place because it was quiet for Sunday lunch—now we understand why.
Great spot. We drive past it often and finally decided to stop in. The sandwiches are fantastic. Since it’s also a butcher shop, I’ll have to try their meat next time. There was a short wait, but we were informed when we placed our order. They prepare the meat fresh for each sandwich, so the wait was expected and definitely worth it. The Cuban sandwich was outstanding. I’m looking forward to trying more of their offerings.
