I am literally sick to my stomach. Placed an order for pick up, which was supposed to be ready at 1:25. Arrived to pick up my order at 1:23. I walk right to the counter and waited. I was not greeted, yet they walked right around me for 13 minutes. Finally a brunette girl asks me ?what?s the name on your order. I gave her the name and continued to wait another 10-15 minutesfor my order. After getting the food home we realized the food was cold. How? I do not know because we live one block away. After microwaving our food my husband finds multiple strands of blonde hair in his broccoli rice casserole. My beans were notdone, AT ALL! That?s not all ladies and gentlemen. He ordered the mushrooms and they literally put 6 slices of mushroom on hisplate! I called for a refund and they offered coupons! I called the owner and they won?t answer. I called their corporate andthey don?t answer! Simply save your money! This restaurant has gone to hell since the pandemic. They were great before but nowit?s a waste of time and money! What a headache! $32 down the drain and no explanation of why we can?t get a refund!

However, it pains me to say that our wonderful evening was marred by the cook. JP ordered the sirloin plate, which was fine, but they had run out of baked potatoes. Thus, he had to choose a different side. While it wasn’t what we expected, he handled it well. He mentioned that the mac and cheese was good! I opted for the BOGO burger meal, but it turned out to be a total disappointment. Emily suggested this burger meal because it was her Thursday special, and she was enthusiastic about it! When the burgers arrived, they were enormous. But after biting into only half of my patty melt, which I had loaded with grilled mushrooms, salad, and tomatoes, I was already full. The only downside to the patty was that the meat was a bit saltier than I prefer. This might have been due to the special mayo they used. The real issue arose with the three cheeseburgers we planned to take home for lunch the next day. Unfortunately, the cook had left the parchment paper between the cheese, which had melted into the other two burgers. This mistake went unnoticed at the table, even by Emily. I was so shocked that I forgot to take a picture of it, and for the record, I don’t usually take photos of my food! I don’t like to write negative reviews, and I truly hope Cotton Patch doesn’t lose any customers over this. But that situation was completely unacceptable and hard to believe. I’m convinced that the Holy Spirit led me to find that parchment paper, because after I finished my grilled veggies from the patty melt and tasted JP’s fries, something caught my eye. I noticed that the cheese was all melted together, and when I moved a piece, there it was—parchment paper! Really? I’ve served countless burgers in my lifetime, and this was a first for me. It simply should never happen! On a positive note, the manager handled the situation well by replacing the second burger and removing the charge for my BOGO meal. Because of that gesture, I’m willing to give them another chance to improve. I wanted to rate them five stars due to our wonderful waitress Emily and the manager, but under the circumstances, that wouldn’t be fair. This being our first visit, it certainly didn’t leave a good first impression. We do hope the cook is able to work through whatever issues may have contributed to this experience!

After we ordered drinks, the waitress asked if we needed some time with the menus and if we wanted rolls. We answered yes to both. Approximately 10 minutes later, our drinks finally arrived, but still no rolls. The waitress mentioned they were in the oven. We placed our orders and then proceeded to wait. And wait. And wait. A few of us went outside for a smoke; when we returned, there were still no rolls or food. After about 30 minutes, our plates finally arrived. The waitress informed us the rolls were nearly ready. Really? They eventually reached our table after another 5 to 10 minutes. I'm one of those people who likes to have bread with every meal, so this was particularly frustrating for me. The food was tasty, although somewhat overpriced, and the waitress was very nice and tried her best to help; she just couldn't pinpoint what was slowing things down. While I could say she seemed genuinely apologetic for the delays, there wasn't much she could do. Overall, our meal took about 2 hours. After a long day at work, 2 hours for a meal can feel like an eternity, especially when all you want is a good meal before heading to bed. The food was good—on par with other locations in the chain—but the wait was ridiculous. We won't be returning, as there are plenty of other places that serve equally good food without making you wait 2 hours.

Update: It started off well, but took a turn! We received a warm greeting, which always makes us feel valued as customers. After being seated in a cozy booth, our waitress Emily came over quickly, almost surprising me! The restaurant was quiet, with just an elderly couple who left shortly after. Emily was friendly, attentive, and full of energy, which is a refreshing change from many places today. Although she apologized for startling me, her promptness made sense since we were her only customers. Unfortunately, I must report that the cook spoiled our otherwise pleasant evening. JP's sirloin plate was fine, but he had to choose a different side because they ran out of baked potatoes, which was unexpected but manageable. He mentioned that the mac 'n cheese was good! I ordered the BOGO burger meal, which turned out to be a total mess. Emily recommended this special because it was popular on Thursdays. When the burgers arrived, they were massive. However, after eating just half of my patty melt—with added grilled mushrooms, lettuce, and tomatoes—and the tasty vegetable medley, I was already full. The only downside to the first burger was that the meat was a bit too salty for my taste, likely due to the bacon mayo. But the real issue came with the three-cheese burger that JP didn't want to eat that night but planned to take home. The cook left the parchment paper stuck between the cheese, which melted onto the other two cheeses on the burger. It was topped with bacon and brought to our table. We didn't notice it initially, nor did Emily, and I was so shocked that I forgot to take a picture. It’s not something I usually do! I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, and I genuinely hope Cotton Patch doesn’t lose customers over this experience. But it was quite disappointing.

I might be being a bit generous with my 3-star rating. We visited around 7:30 on a weekday evening, and there were only a few occupied tables when we arrived. Despite this, we had to wait over 5 minutes just to be acknowledged and seated. It seemed there was only one waitress and one cook on duty that night. We ordered drinks, and the waitress asked if we needed a few moments with the menu and if we wanted rolls. We agreed to both. After about 10 minutes, we finally received our drinks, but no rolls; the waitress mentioned they were still in the oven. After placing our orders, we continued to wait… and wait. A couple of us stepped outside for a smoke, and upon returning, our food and the rolls still hadn't arrived. Our plates finally came out after around 30 minutes, and the rolls showed up another 5 to 10 minutes later. As someone who enjoys bread with every meal, this was quite frustrating. The food was good, albeit a bit overpriced, and the waitress was very friendly and tried her best, but there was only so much she could do about the delays. Overall, the entire experience took us about two hours. After a long day at work, waiting that long for a meal feels excessive. The food was good, just like at other Cotton Patch locations I've been to, but the wait was unacceptable. We won't be returning to this one, as there are plenty of nearby restaurants with similar quality food where the service is much quicker.
