While it can get rowdy in the evenings with a meet market vibe, it's worth checking out for brunch. The atmosphere is cozy, with a veranda perfect for enjoying a cold beer on a hot day. The food is surprisingly good, with dishes like French Onion soup and Chicken Wraps standing out. The staff is welcoming and they offer a daily 2-for-1 beer deal, adding to the nostalgic experience reminiscent of old hotels and taverns.
This is our second visit to this restaurant and once again we were impressed with the food and atmosphere. We have always visited for lunch, so we cannot speak to the evening bar crowd, but the food is excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to find such delicious dishes in a bar setting. The French Onion soup and Chicken Wraps were particularly delicious. The restaurant has charming old wooden bars and multiple levels, creating a very nice atmosphere. We will definitely return on our next trip through town.
It is a nice place to go out and have a drink, and just relax. This is more of the typical pickup bar, where older men are looking for younger women and vice versa. You know what to expect in advance, but you can still get a kick out of observing the dynamics. The food is decent, but not outstanding.
The staff at this restaurant is extremely friendly. They don't serve food but provide a nostalgic experience reminiscent of old hotels and taverns. The beer is always served ice cold, and they offer a daily 2-for-1 deal.
This is an old-style tavern with its own charm even if St. Joseph blvd. is uninspiring and the parking a pain. Some evenings it's a rowdy meet market, but check it out for brunch. Nice place (with veranda) for a cold beer or two on a hot afternoon.
This is the second time we have been there and we have never been disappointed with the food or the atmosphere. We have always gone for lunch so we have not been there for the evening / bar crowd -- however the food is really good. I was surprised to find such good food in a bar. French Onion soup and Chicken Wraps were great. Nice old wooden bars, multi level bars......very nice atmosphere. Will be back on our next trip through town.
