While some encountered slow service and overcooked eggs, others enjoyed consistent quality food and great service. The Philly steak benedict was a standout, and the overall experience was positive. The restaurant has a loyal following, with customers praising the delicious menu and wonderful service. However, some have noted issues with the quality of certain ingredients. Despite mixed reviews, this establishment remains a popular choice for locals and visitors alike, with many recommending it for a satisfying breakfast experience.
My two friends and I were here for breakfast this morning. it took almost half an hour to get our order. when we wanted to pay our waiter, he couldn't change! I asked him for a dollar back and he wanted to get him. all servers should have a float in their aprons. eating is good, but service terrible!
We arrived on a Sunday around After waiting around minutes for a table, we were sat down. We looked at the menu and ordered quickly. The problems started shortly after, the waitress came with the wrong type of tea and took a while...to get the correct one. Then AN HOUR went by, and our food was nowhere to be found. We told the waitress and we still needed to wait another minutes. We asked to talk to the manager: BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! She came around like minutes after (the restaurant wasn't busy at that time, and there was no line-up at the entrance). She came by with an attitude and justified the delay of our food with: We're understaffed and everybody is suffering the same thing when I told her that I didn't care if they were understaffed, and that tables next to us that sat down after us, were already eating, and patiently waited for our food over an hour was completely unacceptable in any kind of restaurant (specially in one like Ben&Florentine with a high-rotation of clients). She just turned around and said: So, do you want to wait for your food or not . No apologies, no can I offer you something on the house?, no would you like another tea, or some bread while waiting? NOTHING! And that's what they call a MANAGER! We waited another minutes, and my plate arrived first, INCOMPLETE, the sausages and the bacon were missing, the toasts were nowhere to be found. Then my friend's plate arrived, it was half empty and had a half-black avocado on top. We put our jackets on, and walked out, without touching the food. We waited hour and minutes, to receive attitude from the manager, incomplete dishes and rotten avocado! NEVER AGAIN, avoid this location, go to the one at Chemin de la Savane for BETTER service and definitely BETTER food.
My son and I went to eat weeks ago. We arrived at seated at and waited minutes for our order to be taken at Yes it was busy but not overly so. Breakfast is supposed to be quick so I...wasn't concerned that I had an appointment at At into the order) I asked if there was a problem in the kitchen but she just looked at me in a puzzled way. I asked if take out was their priority but didn't get a straight answer. At I got up and asked told the waitress I couldn't wait longer. She asked me to wait while she checked and found it was going to be at least another minutes. She said she was sorry. So I can't say how the food may have been because we had to miss eating breakfast. Our order would have been with tax and tip about and to wait over an hour is unacceptable. I repeat that breakfast is supposed to fast! They are doing a ridiculous amount of take-out and I think they have to decide if they want to be a sit down shop or a take out shop. I have been there previously but this experience put me off so I won't be back there.
We were there on a Sunday The menu was nice, server was helpful We were there with our diabetic granddaughter it took us one hour before the meal was served This was quite concerning for us Anyway Imaginative menu Nice location Nice and clean
My husband and I went around this morning, September The restaurant was not busy. Our waitress was at first pleasant, but when I asked for an explanation about something on the menu, she scrunched up her face and said, What in an...annoyed fashion. She offered me an English menu, after seeing I spoke English, which was nice of her, but I never received it. I asked if she could bring honey to put in my coffee and she informed me that it would be an additional seventy-five cents! I said never mind, I'll use the cane sugar. She ran off to the kitchen to place our order, but it took over minutes for breakfast to arrive. In the mean time, she didn't offer an explanation or offer us more coffee, in fact, she disappeared. We left our empty coffee cups at the end of the table in hopes that she or another waitress going by would offer us more coffee. Finally, she returned after minutes and asked if we wanted more coffee, but had to run off and get the coffee pot. She left the previous empty creamers and sugar packets on the end of the table instead of taking them with her. Our breakfast finally arrived, I ordered the Philly and it was served with processed cheese slices and bits of what looked like burned mushrooms (supposed to be Portobello) and the steak was so thin, you could see through it and there was hardly any sauce over the poached egg. My hubby had the eggs Benedict and he reports that it was mediocre at best. It also lacked sauce. The waitress seemed distracted and was dropping things and one customer had to seat himself because she was unavailable when he came in and stood at the entrance for minutes. For our first experience there, we were left feeling unimpressed and will go back to our usual Dinty's for breakfast from now on.
