Two couples. 7 PM after a brief rainstorm. We asked to sit outside. Much consternation. Tables and seats somewhat dried off. Ordered four different dinners. One never showed up. The other three came over an hours time. Waitresses acted as though they had never seen us before. Food that finally arrived was mediocre and over priced.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Bidean while walking the Camino. We’d read the reviews, which were mixed, but we had a great stay and a memorable dinner. We were ushered into a downstairs dining room. We were the first there, as we were getting up early to walk. The service at the hotel and restaurant was excellent. We had none of the negative experiences mentioned in other reviews. The highlight of the dinner was the musical duo, a singer and keyboard player who provided the background music. When they learned we were from New York, they pulled out a new songbook and broke into Frank Sinatra’s New York New York. We laughed and danced and had a great time. It was our Spanish supper club. It was one of the most memorable evenings of our 2 week trip. We still talk about it. I’d recommend it to anyone with an open mind.

We enjoyed a good evening meal with live music. Food and drinks were good, and the music was entertaining. We had an excellent time here.

Can’t comment on the food as we were never served. They gave us a table for dinner. We were able to flag down the waiter for a drink. Then we sat for an hour waiting for them to come back with menus, (we’re very patient). They kept looking at us but never came back. Little disturbing as we were guests in their hotel for a couple of nights. It was Friday night and they were very busy with a lot of locals which is a good sign. We were pilgrims walking the Camino. Maybe they just didn’t want to deal with pilgrims on a busy Friday but no excuse. Went around the corner to a better rated and busier bar/restaurant and were immediately seated and served.

During our camino, my wife and I had dinner at Restaurante Hotel Bidean. We selected their combination plate of paella and salad, believing the food would be good and the service would be fast. We waited at least 15 minutes, then I said something to the waiter. His body language suggested he forgot about our order. He immediately delivered it to us. We watched a Japanese guest experience the same thing. He finally was tapping the table with his fingers, growing more impatient until his dinner was finally delivered. The two waiters were giving all priority to guests with tables on the street and ignored inside guests. After we finished our meal, the same thing happened when I went to pay for the meal. I asked for the check and he nodded his head, only to go on and forget to give me the bill, requiring me to ask for the bill again. When I finally received the bill, I saw that there was an additional charge for bread, when we had not asked for it. There is no way I'll ever eat here again. The next morning the restaurant was open for breakfast, but we passed it by.
