Was in the area so wanted to try Pitburger since its been a Gardena staple for so long. Cash and take out only, ordered a single Teri Burger and waited for a bit. Wasnt dissapointed when i opened it up. The meat wasnt grissled, perfect ratio to meat and bun. Ample napkins since its a bit messy with the Teriyaki sauce and mayo melded together. Apart from the non emotional cashier and standing around outside on the str... View all feedback.
What Jose Hernandez doesn't like about Pitburger:
The Pit was the temple of teriyaki. The chicken and beef used in teriyaki plates is tough and dry. I am very disappointed. For three generation of my wife’s family, it was a family favorite. But I consider it a casualty of COVID 19. Many restaurants have lost their way, cutting corners on quality. Very sad! View all feedback.
Cash only but their teriyaki chicken is delicious. I would call it my comfort food. Parking is ample, but it's a to go place, no actual sit down. Located in an area i would not come after dark.
The first time I tasted it about five years ago I almost cried because it was so damn good. Whenever I go to the LA basin, I make sure to go to Pit Burger, even if it’s out of the way. I love pit burger so much that I was transferring flights at LAX and had family bring me a bag of teriyaki burgers. It was worth going through security again just to taste them again. I haven’t been to LA in months and I’m jonesing for some Pit Burger so bad that I may just fly to LA to buy a few bags and bring them home. Eat a teriyaki burger. You can thank me later.
Pit Burger was delicious- teriyaki plate came with shredded lettuce topped with 1000 island and a pickle and a toasted bun. It was a lot of food for $13. Good sauce to chicken ratio and the chicken was tender and not dry. Waited about 15-20 minutes for my food so I second other reviews where they advise to call ahead.
Anytime I have cash, I tell my husband that we should go to PitBurger. My go-to has been the teriyaki burger but I recently got their teriyaki plate and it was so good. The rice was fluffy and the meat was tender. I ate it ridiculously fast. Then we tried the chili hot dog, it was solid. We went recently on the windiest night and it was so worth it to get this food. Oh and the pickle is amazing.
Been going here since 97. Still best teriyaki in south bay
