Diners rave about the delicious seafood, particularly the raw and grilled oysters, while some opted for specialties like monkfish and baked crab. However, experiences vary; while some dishes excel, others fall flat, including dry smoked salmon cakes and chewy prawns. Service is generally efficient but occasionally unorganized, leading to mixed feelings among patrons. Despite a few disappointments, many guests enjoy the ambiance and the overall seafood experience, making it a popular choice for seafood lovers willing to overlook small shortcomings.
Wonderful, slightly upscale place. I had oysters and seafood chowder with a couple pints of Guinness and some brown bread with butter. Sat at the bar for a casual meal but the dining room was warm and inviting. Seems like you need reservations for it. Definitely a destination if you’re in the Galway area.
Great seafood, staff were very helpful and attentive
Love this place, couldn't tell you how many times i've been and it's just gotten better and better every time. They have made a lot of space out the front however the original building still retains it's character which was very important. The staff are incredibly helpful, the food is great and they do a superb pint of Guinness. We normally arrive as part of a road trip with several cars and there has never been an issue parking.
Awesome oyesters, everyhing is so fresh and tasty 5 stars
This is such a joy on a sunny autumn afternoon. Great Guinness, delicious oysters, fresh smoked salmon, delicious brown soda bread and butter. Heaven!
