Corrib House - Galway

Such a disappointment today, along with other visitors .. we arrived at 9.30 .. looking forward to the usual fair .. to be seated and told all chef’s were sick we had a choice of FOUR items … not breakfast items .. lots of customers left .. I stayed (only for the view) while I understand staff get sick, corrib tea rooms should have put a note on the door and told loyal customers the situation. One couple arrived having be told how good it was only to be really disappointed as there was no proper menu.

Dropped in to get a takeaway on our way out of town but stayed nearly an hour taking in the tasty berry scones and enjoying a chat with the most friendly and engaging staff we’ve met this trip (amazing given its one of the friendliest countries we’ve travelled). Right by the river. They have plenty of fresh and tasty menu options and a great atmosphere

My family was staying at Corrib House and I joined them for breakfast. It was a charming location with delicious food and friendly staff.

I was disappointed with the way the situation was handled. I was told that the mistake was because it was assumed we wanted vegetarian, and that I should have clarified my order. I did not receive an apology. Although I had no plans to go back to town the next day, I returned and was refunded the difference. I was charged €32 in the end. I was frustrated that this could not have been resolved over the phone, and I was not happy with the unprofessional manner in which the situation was handled. Despite my disappointment, I used to enjoy this cafe. However, as a dissatisfied customer, I may reconsider returning in the future.

I was here twice recently- once with my mother and then on my own. I love the beautiful setting, decor and the food is great. However both times the service was terrible, the waitresses seemed totally uninterested. They left myself and the table opposite me waiting for long periods of time and never asked if we needed anything and they were just plain rude. My advice, don't bother spending your money here when there is plenty of other good restaurants who would appreciate the business!
