Always pleasant to visit. Attentive staff, cosy and relaxed atmosphere, great food and drink. And Ulick as ever on top form, this place never has a bad day, happily be back again and again.
Had dinner here last night. standard of the food was super poty cant say the same for keeping the barman. not the one with little bart, who was good. the other last night first overload for first drink (pint instead half pint). second, after he asked about eating and received a grunt hoir later asked annother staff and sitting and menus within minutes. Finally my wife was a celiac and substituted gnowchi and calamari (containing gluten) with maic and few veg we had beautiful meals. but as bill came almost euro for the replacement he said was inevitable. we paid and left, but all the experience has left sour taste and we could not come back from this reason.
Beautiful bar bistro in the heart of galway. service was very good when we last visited.
We had a lovely evening in Blakes on 29th December. Staff were lovely and food was excellent.
My wife and I stopped in for breakfast prior to a trip. The older gentleman behind the bar was absolutely wonderful. He was engaging, funny and at times I bit humorous with stern suggestions that were spot on. The mini breakfast was still filling and the tea here was perfect. The atmosphere here was great for visitors and we felt at home in no time. Before leaving the older gentleman asked what our plans were and offered advice on which route to take on our trip to better see Ireland and what it offers. This advice did not disappoint and ended up being one of our favorite experiences on our trip.
