Early in the week Joey is behind the bar, and you won't be disappointed. Great place to watch the game, and Joey is Galveston gem!

My boyfriend and I live on the Strand and wanted to try a new place off the beaten path. What a pleasant surprise when we walked into the Pressbox! We were immediately welcomed by the owner who chatted with us while we decided on what to order. Our food was perfectly priced and absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ordered a burger without a buttered bun due to his lactose allergy. They were very thorough on making sure that the food was safe and edible for him. We will definitely go back time and time again for the wonderful hospitality and quaint atmosphere.

Blanca was fantastic! We ordered the rib special for $18, and she kindly offered to serve everything separately for sharing. I requested my meat medium, and while I think the chef typically aims for that, it was still incredibly tender. It came with a salad, a baked potato, and a slice of Texas toast. Blanca also made sure we each got our preferred salad dressings, and even though the salad was split, it was generous! The baked potato was excellent, definitely not microwaved, as the skin was tender and wrapped in foil. We never felt rushed; the ducks came out after we had finished our salads. I visited on my own about four years ago and ordered the cheeseburger with Tater Tots, which I hadn’t thought about in years but still remember fondly. There was so much food that I couldn't even finish the cheeseburger! This is a great local barbecue spot with a loyal following. We'll definitely be back to try the Frito Pie!
