We were initially perplexed by the sign outside advertising Beerfoot Brewery. However, upon entering, we discovered that this establishment is actually a fantastic bar, not a brewery. The bar features a large blackboard with a variety of craft options... View all feedback.
What Preston Windler doesn't like about Beerfoot Beach:
The Friday identified to the bar was an awesome 5 stars. Good drinks, friendly staff and, cool atmosphere. The Sunday I went was like a twilight zone. From staff to daydrunk patrons it all came to be about 1½stars. View all feedback.
You have a wide selection of about 35 beers on tap. The name, Beerfoot Brewery, can be cheated when considering that they are currently not brewing beer. Before-Covid they had a brew on the staff, but the bartender explained how they had to shut down for a few months and the brewing continued. They changed their name to Beerfoot Beach Bar. It definitely has a bar vibe with loud music, not that it is a bad thing, but I wouldn't say 's family friendly as most breweries. But the pool table and the foosball table make it a nice meeting place.
Awesome beach bar with open air feel with garage door open. Tons of beers on tap, Huge whiskey selection and FREE Peanuts! Funny down to earth staff Great place to watch sports, DOG FRIENDLY Improv Shows, Crawfish on Sundays when in season Darts, pool and a cool backroom for private parties or events. If you're a local you should join their Whiskey Club and BeerNuts Rewards program.
Modest selection of in-house brews (IPA and chocolate milk stout on a recent visit). Supplemented by a diverse blend of Texan and independent options, including several easy drinkers, IPAs, heavies, and sours. Small but excellently curated bourbon selection, including Pappy, Blanton's, and Jefferson's. Laid back atmosphere, clearly popular with locals.
Very friendly and funny bartender. Great selection. Comfortable. Lots of free peanuts. Their own beers were alright. Only had two of their own at the time with one more (an IPA) on the way. Their own brews had a pretty specific taste. Will come back.
Galveston, Texas has many places to kick back and drink delicious craft beer. Most of them are beer bars scattered throughout the island, but there are a few places that brew their own as well and one of them is Beerfoot Brewery. I have visited Beerfoot many times since it first opened. It?s a small brewery with a small brewing system and they only brew a small number of their own beers. On my most recent visit, they had only one of their own, house brewed beers on tap. This was a bit of a disappointment, since I wanted to try more of what they brew. In the past, I have been there when they had as many as three of their own beers on tap, and this is certainly better, but it is still less than what you find at most breweries. What Beerfoot Brewery lacks in serving beers of its own, it makes up for in the number of beers from other breweries. There are about 20 or so taps of beer and dozens of bottles and cans, most of which seem to favor Texas brewed suds. In this respect, Beerfoot Brewery is like a beer bar that also happens to brew beer of its own. This sets it apart from other breweries, the majority of which serve more of their own beers than they do their competitors beers. For quick reference, the beers on tap are spelled out on a chalkboard, behind the bar. This is nice, but it would be better if the beer names also showed the name of the brewery that makes them. As a craft beer writer and seeker of new brew, I like to know what brewery brews the beer and with a system like this, you don?t know unless you ask, which takes additional time. For entertainment, Beerfoot Brewery has a foosball table and pool table. The foosball table was broken when I was there, but the pool table was in functional order so the rest of the family spent time shooting pool. The wide, open window in front is nice, because it means good views of the Gulf of Mexico. Parking is somewhat of an issue, though. You may very well have to search up and down adjacent streets to find a place to park, then make your way to Beerfoot on foot. Galveston, Texas is all about fun in the sun and beer is big part of any fun occasion. Beerfoor Brewery is a good place to kick back and down a few brews and its close proximity to the Gulf makes it perfect for a beer break. It does lack in a few areas, but the beer selection makes Beerfoot Brewery worth a visit.
