**Dining at The Generals: A Mixed Bag of Experiences** The Generals, an enchanting restaurant nestled in the historic DeSoto, offers a charming atmosphere reminiscent of the 1800s. While some diners rave about the exceptional food and attentive service, others have encountered disappointments, citing mediocre meals and service mishaps. Highlights include delightful specialties like shrimp in bacon, crab legs, and satisfying surf and turf options. Despite occasional service delays, the staff’s commitment to customer satisfaction, including comped meals on mishaps, shines through. With reasonable prices and a warm ambiance, The Generals remains a beloved spot for many, promising memorable meals amid its quaint décor.
We ordered a Veggie Omelette and waffles, and the food was delicious. The seating area and interior have a wonderful historical charm, making for a lovely experience. However, our order was misplaced, and it took 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Fortunately, the server was kind enough to offer to cover our entire bill, so we ended up dining for free!
I enjoyed my omelet, while my wife's waffle was just average. However, the cookies and the service were excellent. It's a nice, very clean restaurant.
I’m absolutely in love with this place! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and they really know their menu inside and out. The waiters provided outstanding customer service.

We’ve passed by for 20years and finally stopped in. It’s in the historic DeSoto so the decor was 1800s. Quaint dining room. Karstyn our server gave us full attention. Explained mine well. Shrimp in bacon appetizer was crisp and tasty. Wife has crab legs. Reasonable market price. I had ribs. Portions generous. 2 sides generous. Birthday cheesecake was tasty. My wife’s wine selection was good. Reasonable prices. Overall service from our 3 servers capped the evening. We’ll be back for sure
