Great local bar and eatery in the gnv area. Late night menu is awesome, dinner menu is better. Worth trying out if you're downtown and looking for somewhere to eat. View all feedback.
What Jo Ann B doesn't like about The Top:
Service was mediocre all servers looked like they just got out of bed. The restaurant advertised skirt steak sandwich looked delicious but the delivered sandwiched (2 in our party of 5) barely had any steak on them lots of onions and green stuff but only 4 thin or shaved 1/2 in HC 1 inch slices of meat on each half of the roll. There was not 1/2oz of meat and yet the price was $18. I’ve seen more meat on Whopper Jr.... View all feedback.
So my friend and I decided to catch and eat and she mentioned food at The Top for a duck she loved from this place. Since the movement...
Love this place! Great outdoor area. Inside really nice decor. The food was great! Our five party ever has something else. But enjoyed everything! And the prices! Amazingly reasonable! In any case, a family and a college student would appeal! We will revive this restaurant next time in Gainesville! Very recommended!
For simply looking for a bar, this place has extremely good food. The waiting staff was on their game and a nice mix of leisure and professional. Next trip to Gainesville will definitely include another dinner here
I only discovered that the mushrooms ravioli is now a special, not every day pasta menu item, so I recommend it to you when it is available when you go to eat here. It's fire. Had a really good meal on Sunday afternoon with local beers and shadows. It is really nice that the outdoor area dog is friendly and they offer bowls of water to keep cool.
We went to The Top around 6:30pm on a Sunday during March Madness. I only mention this because it is not a big sports bar and half of the people could have cared less. We sat at the bar which is all the way to the left as you walk into the establishment. From there you have a good view of the place. There was conversation level music in the background and most people at the bar and at the tables were not occupied by their phones which seemed to create a nice social buzz in the atmosphere. There were couples of varying ages from thirty-five or so and up. I wanted to show my friend from overseas a good, clean place with nice atmosphere on St Patty?s Day weekend and this was the place that he thought was the best. If there was a disappointment, it was less on The Top and more on what restaurants in the area are charging and that prices are not what they used to be. Their $12 classic burger (chicken not beef, w/o Tomato, onion pickle) seemed over-prices and a little small. Again, maybe not their fault but start getting used to what appears to be the new standard. That said, it was tasted good and came out in a timely manner based on the crowd. It you are looking for a place to relax on a Sunday evening with some friends and a little bit of responsible adult atmosphere, you should put this on the list. Parking might get a little tricky if you don?t get lucky, but you can find a place not too far in a couple of minutes.
