The place was a bit too noisy for my tastes. Perhaps that loudly cackling woman at a nearby table was to blame. Perhaps it's the location: next door to a bar popular with the college kids that often has loud outdoor dancing going on. Its food was good, but not spectacular.
Excellent food and service. Have had brunch and dinner there. Both exceeded expectations.
We decided to share the hummus and beet salad. Unfortunately, the hummus was over-seasoned with turmeric, resulting in a dry, almost tannic sensation in the mouth. The beet salad was mediocre; it was just okay. On a positive note, our server was polite and attentive, ensuring that we were served quickly. However, the woman who appeared to be in a management position was rather cold and unfriendly. Edit after the owner’s response: I want to clarify that the Mediterranean reference didn’t come directly from the restaurant but from a social media post related to local options for an event. I understand that the restaurant can’t control how it’s listed in such promotions. Regarding the 'chickpea dip,' I stand by my opinion; it’s essentially hummus. It may lack tahini, which is often a key ingredient in traditional hummus, but it is what it is, especially since it is served with pita. Additionally, turmeric is one of the main spices found in many curry blends—just pointing that out.
My friend and I go to the Paramount Grill for special occasions or for a leisurely Sunday brunch. The entrees are not your standard offerings. The menu offers some unique selections which gets us out of our comfort zone of only eating what we know. The staff are always very pleasant and we never feel rushed. We definitely intend to go again.
