I've never been a big fan of Gators Dockside. While their food isn't bad, I find it to be quite ordinary. The menu features typical American dishes that you can usually find better versions of at other places, and the ambiance feels like a standard sports bar lacking in character. However, my most recent visit was somewhat more enjoyable. I attended a work event there, and we were in a private room indulging in plenty of wings. I've tried their wings before and found them to be overcooked and dry, but this time they were fairly decent. Still not outstanding, but an improvement compared to my previous experiences. The service was commendable, so I want to give a shoutout to the wait staff for doing a great job.
Amazing restaurant! I'm a big fan of their two-for-one drink specials and the wings are delicious. Riley, our waiter, was attentive and really helped me, an Aussie, understand the American menu. I'm a huge fan of spicy food, but if you're not into heat, I recommend trying the Thai peanut wings. The gator tail is fantastic as well!
I thought that this place was cool. The atmosphere was very upbeat. When I came in here last year, I ordered the gator bites. They were fried and served with this orange creamy sause. They were quite good. For those that have never had alagator before, the texture is, I'd say, between chicken and fish. They don't have a whole lot of flavor, but they are good. They don't havehave a swampy, fishy taste either, which was my initial concern. I ordered my gator bites with chicken bites as well, whichwere great. Nice and crunchy. They also have a good variety of other alagator dishes to try. Overall, I really enjoyed thisplace.
Excellent service from Deborah, our server. Had to send back a dirty martini that was made by a bartender with sweet vermouth instead of regular vermouth. Deborah made the correct one herself, and it was delicious! Even on a very busy day, she ensuredour table of 5 had everything we needed and that we were happy. Great place to watch games. Plenty of TVs, seating, and barseats. Good for all ages.
I got seated right away on a Friday night. The food and drink specials were excellent. The staff was amazing—very knowledgeable about the menu and eager to help with any questions we had! I especially want to give a shoutout to our waitress, Leslie, and Rufus, the manager on duty. Their warm and approachable attitude really made a difference and deserves praise. They definitely earned the tip we gave them and should be recognized even more by the restaurant. Definitely visit and tip generously!
