What Isadore Schultz doesn't like about Stable Hands:
Came here for a coffee Sunday morning with my parter, ordered a large cappuccino and an iced coffee. Had to wait about 20 mins before the iced coffee came out then another 5mins for the coffee. The iced coffee came without cream (what kind of $7 iced coffee comes without cream!) and the Capp was more of a warm flat white. View all feedback.
Had the best breakfast I've had in a long time. Silverbeet and feta fritters were creamy with a hint of chili, and delicious corn purée with spring onions was a nice touch. I ordered a side of the house made bacon which was SO good, crispy and salty. Partner had slow cooked eggs on toast - sourdough is buttery and delicious. Coffee is also some of the best I've had in forever. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive, and food came out quickly. I could not fault this experience, we will definitely be back!
Delicious food, wonderful service! I Highly recommend. I had the barramundi and would highly recommend for anyone wanting a yummy lunch! There was a few other options on the menu that I'm looking forward to going back and trying!

I enjoyed this cafe but would have liked more breakfast choices. I had the option of eggs, black rice porridge or granola, the other items were more of a lunch thing. I ordered the porridge and it was nice, although, it was so intense my mouth did turn black eating it.. and I realised I did a bad job brushing my teeth as my teeth turned black also which was awkward. The coffee was great and the service was also great. I would return to this cafe if they had more breakfasty things on the menu.
Off the cappuccino strip on Bannister Street is this beautiful new place, Stable hands, with crisp white rendered walls, exposed timber, concrete floors and light furniture. It opened 3 weeks ago, and I tried it today for brekkie. It is table service with little tables for singles or duos and communal tables for bigger groups. They will open more space upstairs and roast their own coffee in the basement; love the concept. Eventually they will be opening for dinner also. Their menu is designed for all day dining covering brekkie and lunch, and it has exciting flavours and combinations that are different to anywhere else that I have been to recently. It was also nice to see some Australian ingredients popping up in dishes including lemon myrtle and quandong. I tried the beetroot cured salmon, with pickled quail eggs covered in ash, sauerkraut rosti and lemon myrtle dust, and a long Mac topped up. Coffee came out quickly and was hot and bold, strong flavours. No complaints with the coffee; excellent! The brekkie also came out quick and was exquisitely plated with vibrant colours. The fish was wonderful, and those pickled eggs gave the dish some citrusy zing; loved them. A very nice brekkie with a dish that was incredible. Overall amazing venue, excellent food and coffee and friendly, attentive staff. Will have to come back to try the other unusually exciting options on the menu.
