We had 2 very good coffees, I've had coffee once before here and they were both consistent. The soy milk creme was nice and full bodied, so well stretched and not overheated, the coffee had a good grind, a smooth rich flavour which balanced well with the soy milk. My partner had a coconut coffee and reported a smooth coffee flavour balanced with coconut.BUT hold the horses we had an expensive slice of vegan chocolate... View all feedback.
What Gerda Bergnaum doesn't like about Roots and Greens:
Beware of the cakes in this café! They have no prices on them and I was shocked to find out that a piece of lime and coconut set me back $7.90! My friend had coffee and a patty with salad and was also shocked to get a bill for over $20. She didn’t even like the patty as it tasted of something weird and the salad was just lettuce, cucumber and tomato. The last time I went there another friend had a slice of banana bre... I feel healthier just walking in here. A coffee next door and a juice here balances out, right? Try their lunch boxes, they're rather special.
Everything looked and sounded amazing! I had the Acai bowl, it was very nice but a little expensive I think. Although the smoothie was quite melted by the time it got out to me it was still quite nice. Service could be better but definitely recommend
I came here last week with a friend and we both ordered an acai bowl. I got the chocolate or cocoa acai bowl and it was delicious. We both loved it! I would definitely come here again. My only complaint is the price as I thought it was a little bit pricy for the amount you get. Other than that, I really enjoyed coming here and would come again.
Came here with 2 friends for brekkie today. We all tried a different type of acai bowl and they were all delic! We'll definitely come again. Didn't try any dessert type foods like the raw balls and dark chocolate but they looked amazing!
Wray Avenue in Freo is fast becoming a hot spot for eclectic shops selling food, clothes and gifts, and a nice scattering of little Cafes. Now there’s another place, Roots and Greens, right next door to The Little Concept, and owned by the same friendly owner. I’ve been meaning to pop in and decided today was the day as I was wanting something uplifting and healthy. Walking in the friendly lady at the counter explained their menu board, they have four so for a first timer it was a lot to take in. I decided to go for a juice, the ****** Good with carrot, beetroot, celery, apple and ginger, along with a tiramisu cheesecake. It all looked so fresh and delicious. The juice truly something my body was craving; it had fresh flavours, with nice earthiness of the beetroot, and some spice from the ginger. My body thanked me for it. And the tiramisu, well it was very delicious, nice creaminess and great flavours. I loved both dishes I tried. The friendly owner welcomed me and also mentioned that the Pink Kiss juice was another popular juice, so will have try that very soon. For some reason all that healthiness had a great effect because I ended up going straight to the veggie shop just up the road to stock up on my greens for dinner! Next time you're in Freo be sure to seek this place out.
