$7 for a soft serve with cotton candy and lots of colourful toppings, plus bonus cotton candy holder-upperer. Probably not what I'd get every time I have soft serve hankerings, but definitely worth a special treat once in a while. I loved how delicate the staff were with creating the rainbow work of art. I didn't get to have an entire one to myself so might have to find my way back sooner rather than later. Would definitely go a different candy floss to the Blueberry, thought it tasted quite odd, photogenic as it was!.

If a six year old could exclaim 'OMFG' I think that would have been cried from one end of the Freo markets to the other! Once eyes were set upon the cotton candy crafted concoction which was constructed from cone and cream, (well, ice cream, but then the alliteration wouldn't have worked, would it!) there was no going back! If an ice cream cone with three different toppings fell from heaven and got lodged in a cloud, you would have found something close to the creation which was presented to the little lady that hot Perth afternoon! And while all the sugar under the sun might not appeal to the average adult, to a kid it's heaven! The flavours were all fairly standard, but the generous serve and artistic design make this place a market must for the little ones. So go on, treat them, just make sure they can work off the sugar for about 6 hours afterward!
Cotton I is a small stall located within the fruit and vegetable section of Fremantle market. We couldn't resist to try this out when we walked past this place. There are a few icecream flavor to choose from then we get to pick the colour of our fairy floss. We also get to pick the toppings that we like to go with it. The staff who served us is very friendly, he even tell us what color our fairy floss will turned out to be, good for Instagram picture ???? Overall, it was a fun experience to try to eat this icecream without getting too messy. And after all, It brought back so much childhood memories.
So for $5, you get an ice-cream cone and a toppings, but for an extra $3 you can add fairy floss, which transforms it. You can choose your ice-cream flavour (vanilla, strawberry, or a twist of the two), and choose your fairy floss flavour, then choose one add-on, with each additional add-on being 50 cents (though during July there's a special offer of two free additional toppings). The staff are very friendly. I'd recommend waiting til later in the day when it's not as busy. The fairy floss can be a little messy, as it sticks to the cone and your face, but that's part of the fun. You do need to be careful in crowded spaces.
All my icecream dreams came true when I got this but man, it's a logistic nightmare to handle! Haha. As soon as I started tugging at the fairy floss it fell apart and became a sticky, two handed snack. I loved that I was able to customize everything from the flavour of the fairy floss, the soft serve and my choice of 3 toppings. One of these will set you back $8. Love the creativity behind this!
