What Sumayyah Aderonke doesn't like about Bengal Indian Restaurant:
Awful indian . Everything tasted the same. Everything was so sweet i didnt know if i was eating dinner or desert! Not a hint if an indian spice. The veg korma we got (which yes i know is a little sweet... but this was beyond) was...made with frozen veg! And was $18.50! They were watery and mushy. The supposed medium bengali prawn curry (which wasnt) was $23.50 and was watery with a few tiny shrivelled prawns in it. T... View all feedback.
Surprisingly empty on a Friday night. but ideal for families. beautiful Indian cuisine. the lamb was extremely tender slower cook and of better quality than most Indian restaurants. service friendly. very clean and beautiful interior, but lacked in the atmosphere and charm. would definitely recommend...and good to know that they do not reserve.

We decided to eat a dinner here on the Oct. on entry there was no customers and the whole time we dined there was only or take away customers. The lady serving i think may have been very new, as she had...to run off to the back to ask any questions we asked of her. Serving food was a bit hit and miss and after entree we decided to help her out and just pass the food around to avoid spills etc. The food that came out was decent and tasty. the serving sizes were decent as well. pricing is about the same as most indian restaurants. If your close its worth a visit, but i wouldnt travel for it.

And with rice and raita that was over So angry and disappointed i rang them and told them exactly this. There is much better indian around here. Dont bother with them.
Have been sporadically visiting the Bengal for over years as it’s moved locations several times around the Freo area. Our last visit on Saturday night saw it reasonably quiet with what seemed to be one waiter, and I’ll assume one chef out the back....Suffice to say we enjoyed ourselves,.....with positives such as: A) easy to park and free! B)easy to get a table C)friendly efficient waiter D)great food E)great price/value Will be back soon!
