Spencer Devon Brewing - Fredericksburg
Spencer Devon Brewing
Description
A community-minded craft brewery and kitchen pairing well-balanced, drinkable beers with a chef-driven menu of sharable plates, tacos, burgers and inventive bites like drunken and pickled shrimp. Rotating taps (try the Black IPA) and beer flights spotlight unique, seasonal flavors, while friendly, efficient staff, shuffleboard and live music create a lively, casual atmosphere. Locally sourced ingredients and weekly specials give it a neighborhood feel; prices are typical for a brewery and limited-run brews can disappear quickly.

The customer service from our waitress, Hannah, was fantastic! I enjoyed the drunken shrimp and grits, which were absolutely delicious. The beer and music were perfect as well. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning!
Having come from upstate New York, where craft breweries are quite common, I found Spencer Devon Brewing to have well-balanced beers that are full of flavor and incredibly drinkable. If you're a beer enthusiast, this is definitely the place for you. (Just a side note: I'm not a fan of IPAs in general, so I steer clear of them at any brewery I visit.) Two thumbs up!
We like to visit the local places when we travel. This was recommended by the hotel as the place to go for craft beer. We were not disappointed! They have a wonderful Oktoberfest to welcome fall. We shared several small plates and got to taste a new pretzel bite not yet on the menu. It will be a perfect accompaniment to their beers. It was a special treat to talk to the owner and hear him describe the dream he is following in using as much local produce as he can in his menu items. My favorite were the pork and beef sliders. Something we had not had before was pickled shrimp. Try it, your tastebuds will thank you!
Beer is great. Food is amazing. Bar tender did me a solid by helping me escape a drunk guy despite being super busy. Prices are typical of a brewery. Still highly recommend for food and staff!
I had an excellent experience at this restaurant for dinner. The beer was outstanding, and the appetizer featuring a variety of meats and cheeses, along with the delicious jalapeño jelly, was fantastic. The double burger with pimento cheese was also very good and paired perfectly with the beer. I can't quite recall everything I enjoyed, but I'm definitely planning to return soon. This has become my new favorite spot. Kudos to the brew master and chef for a job well done!
