Nestled within a cozy atmosphere, Ortzi presents a modern twist on Basque cuisine that delights the senses. Diners rave about the attentive service and exceptional wine selections, which complement the meticulously crafted dishes. Signature favorites like patacas and buñuelos de bacalao shine brightly, alongside exquisite tapas such as croquettes, octopus, and cochinillo. The tasting menu, often highlighted for its variety and depth, elevates the dining experience further, ensuring each bite is memorable. Despite modest portion sizes, the quality and flavor make every visit worthwhile. Ortzi is a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable meal in the heart of NYC.

Eating is great. the staff is very friendly and helpful.

The personal was excellent. our dinner was excellent and we plan to return to nyc next time.

The place is small but very attractive, modern and comfortable. some tables are quite close to each other, which gives it a Mediterranean atmosphere despite the contemporary designs. I've never had basque food before and I liked it very much. I especially recommend the buñuelos de bacalao and the patacas. worth a visit!

We went here for dinner with no prior expectations. We ordered the tasting menu when we couldn't decide on only 1-2 dishes. We were not disappointed. The service was amazing. The manager oversaw everything and kept it running smoothly. Sitting by the open kitchen, we could see that not a single dish sat before the waiter took it to the table. The tasting menu was spot on. Each dish was excellent. Basically, they choose 1-2 items from each part of the menu per course per person. For some courses we had 3 dishes, for others, 2. Even the desserts were thoughtful and not overly decadent, but just sweet enough. I can't believe a place like this is in Midtown, in a hotel lobby, no less, but don't let that fool you or you'll miss out.

I visited the restaurant on a Saturday around 5 PM before heading to a Broadway show. The service was prompt, and the waitstaff were very attentive, regularly refilling our water and clearing away empty plates. The tapas were absolutely delicious.
