Walkemuhle has a large ‘barn’ for private parties, a huge terrace/biergarten and a restaurant inside the old mill. Staff is very friendly and food is very tasteful.

This was most enjoyable so we returned the... read more Our first experience of the Walkemuehle was for a celebration, with drinks outside and dinner in the barn restaurant. This was most enjoyable so we returned the next day for dinner with a friend. We sat downstairs near the water wheel and had a lovely meal of baked potato/ venison schnitzel with cranberry sauce/pumpkin soup and onion tart from Hessen. There was even Apfelwein (cider) to drink as well as good beers. Upstairs there is another large room and outside a fantastic playground for children. This restaurant can be reached on foot or bike from Frankenberg it is just outside the town and there is also ample parking. Worth seeking out
