Feedback
The cafe, under new management, has unfortunately experienced a significant decline in quality. However, Butty's across the street remains dog friendly. Despite this, The Hideaway offers a great value vegan breakfast with other delicious vegan options. The extensive menu includes vegetarian options and a lovely atmosphere with attentive staff. Additionally, the chicken gyros and Greek platters are highly recommended, along with the friendly service and peaceful atmosphere. Overall, The Hideaway is a hidden gem with fantastic menu options for vegetarians and vegans, making it a must-visit spot in Folkestone.
This cafe is lovely, with kind and attentive staff. The food is freshly cooked to order and very reasonably priced.
I was unaware that this cafe had changed ownership. It used to be absolutely delicious, but unfortunately, the quality has significantly declined since the new management took over. The staff member was friendly and attentive, however, the food was terrible. It was all cheap and poorly prepared. The sausage was tough, the fried egg was overcooked with a hard yolk and burnt edges, the beans were low quality, and the toast was pre-buttered with nasty margarine, not even buttered to the edges. I believe toast should be presented without being covered in butter and given a separate butter square to add yourself. In any case, I suggest not wasting your money here and finding another place to eat.
The restaurant under new ownership is no longer welcoming to dogs. The former owners have opened a cafe in Dover instead. It is worth noting that Butty's across the street is still dog friendly.
I visited at last the hideaway this morning for a breakfast snack. I had eggs royale and a mug of tea. To say it was lovely is down playing it the eggs were perfectly poached and oozed yoke as soon as they were cut into. The salmon was so tasty and the dockers toast was the tastiest toast I have ever had. Even the standard mug of tea was lovely. I will definitely return thanks
