Papa's Fish Chips - Folkestone
Papa's Fish Chips
Description
Nestled on Sandgate Road, this fish and chips restaurant offers a diverse menu, from crispy battered fish to a variety of sides. Diners have received both excellent service and disappointing meals, with some praising the freshness and quality, while others found greasy, subpar offerings. The ambiance may be lacking, especially in the takeaway area, but friendly staff often enhance the experience. Affordable options attract families, and some visitors even enjoyed outdoor seating. Overall, the restaurant promises potential but seems to balance between satisfying and underwhelming, making it worth a visit with tempered expectations.

Great Fish Chips (plus lots of other things) and always freshly cooked. Very good service. We use Papas regularly, both for take Away and family meals.
Incredible! First of all, the people for very kind, gracious, and helpful. They answered all of our American questions. Papa’s has some of the best fish I’ve ever tasted. I usually dunk my fish in plenty of ketchup, but this was delicious eating it as is. The chips were decent, but the biggest delicious surprise was the banana fritter! WOW!! Get it with maple syrup and you can thank me later. We had two three fish specials, one fritter, and a bottle of Tango, and spent less than 13£.
Lovely little place. Service was excellent and we sat outside and ate at a couple of bistro tables they have on the pavement. They have a really good value for money option with a tray of 1, 2 or 3 small fish fillets with chips. I had 2 small fish fillets with chips for £3.30, you can't beat that!
