This was our second visit having lun... read more My wife and I recently had lunch at the Ristorante Il Molino in Spello, in the province of Perugia in the region of Umbria. This was our second visit having lunched there in 2017 and really enjoyed the food, the service and the good nature of the owner. This time we had a light lunch; sharing a canesttra (basket of) of vegetables including hot eggplant, zucchini, peppers and pomodoro with melted pecorino cheese on top. We also share the Pecorino Mista, a mix of several types of pecorino cheese from the area. That coupled with two glasses of vino rosso made for a perfect mid-afternoon lunch. We were seated outside on the patio, however we needed to move inside due to the sky literally opening up with a torrential rainfall. Inside is like a large wine cellar with white table-clothed tables and brick sloped ceilings. The food is very good, the service was very good. The owner is very focused on meeting his customers' expectations, extremely gracious and welcoming. The menu is much more extensive, including a host of antipasti choices, multiple pasta dishes and a similar list of second courses. Also included is a full wine list. We will be back in the Spello area again next year and we'll be sure to visit therefor third time.

So different and a lovely su... read more We were in a Globus tour group and had optional dinner here. Particular favorite was a pasta in a citrusy sauce—orange if I recall. So different and a lovely surprise flavor. I asked for the recipe and was told it was an in-house original and I could find it online. I am still searching nearly a year later for Molina’s Pasta!
