Just ate here for lunch. We had fried oysters, blackened Mahi, and seafood pasta. All dishes were delish. The Mahi wasn't really blackened but I didn't feel like sending it back. The sauce that came with it was incredible. Overall good food at decent pricefor lunch.
I was highly disappointed because I drove almost an hour to get these extra small oysters. And on top of that they were gritty, I was actually chewing sand and had to keep spitting it out! Not to mention they even went up on the price. Verydisappointed. UPDATE: After my review half shell did reach out to me to see how they could fix the issue. They explained thatthe size of the oysters varies with the season and we came to a satisfying solution. I am very well satisfied.
Katelynn was our very attentive extremely nice server. We had a variety, crispy cajun avocados, fried green tomatoes and crab cakes, oysters bienville, chicken alfredo and seafood pasta, one with grits and the other with their delicious broccoli. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. We washed it down with lemonade, shirley temples and I tried the strawberry basil mojito. Several people stopped by to check on us. I haven't been eating in restaurants very much in the
I ordered a dozen Bienville oysters for takeout last night. Unfortunately, the oysters were overcooked and burnt, with large chunks of salt baked on top that I had to remove before I could eat them. Additionally, there were small shell fragments stuck underneath, and some even made their way inside the oysters. I usually look forward to visiting Half Shell when I'm in town, but this experience was disappointing, especially considering the price has increased. I paid $28 for these oysters, only to be left feeling disgusted and needing to drink something to wash it down.
As a first-time visitor, I can confidently say I will return. Everything was fantastic. You absolutely have to try the watermelon splash—it's delicious! The Voodoo wings were outstanding. I also ordered the smoky shrimp and grits, which were quite good. This place is perfect for a date night. I highly recommend it!
