Kopan
Description
A beloved Northern Kentucky spot blending standout sushi with comforting Korean classics, popular for inventive rolls, flavorful fried rice and crispy appetizers. Service is often quick and friendly though occasionally uneven, and prices for sashimi can feel high. The menu includes vegetarian choices and enticing drink specials, making it a go-to for families and regulars. Decor is eclectic and lively — charming to some, mismatched to others — but consistent food quality keeps customers returning for both casual bites and comforting favorites.

The Crab Rangoons were tasty, but I would have liked a sweet and sour sauce instead of the yum yum-like sauce that was served with them. The Rainbow, Fire Cracker, and Sunday Morning rolls were all enjoyable; however, the Sunday Morning roll is cooked and it was packed alongside the two cold rolls, which resulted in the cold rolls being warm — not ideal for raw fish. The Chicken Fried Rice was good, just as you’d expect it to be. The Gyoza was crispy and flavorful. I had never experienced anything quite like the Dolsot Bibimbap with Beef before. It comes with a spicy sauce on the side, which is a must-try, though it might be a bit too spicy for those who are sensitive to heat. Also, I would have preferred an over-medium egg instead of an over-hard one.
Kopan has been a beloved family spot ever since it opened in the area. The sushi is consistently amazing. Recently, I sampled the kimchi fried rice with beef, and it was incredibly delicious—truly a taste of Korean comfort food. The photo was taken last month at the restaurant. I highly recommend it!
This is likely the best sushi spot in Northern Kentucky. Every roll I've tried has been fantastic! The Swipe Right, Kopan, and Sassy Girl rolls were particularly amazing.
Everything had a delightful smoky flavor. The crab salad was amazing and offered me plenty to enjoy throughout the day. Truly exceptional!
I started with a sushi roll, and then I ordered the lobster rangoons, both of which were delicious. I didn’t ask for anything unless the waitress came to my table, so I wasn’t making her run around. However, when she brought my check, I politely informed her that I still wanted to order an entrée. She looked at me, rolled her eyes, and said, “What do you want?” as if I were inconveniencing her. At that point, I chose to just pay for my meal and leave. I still tipped 20%, but I don't plan on returning if she's the one serving. The other waitress I had was wonderful, and I would love to come back when she is working.
