What Very Disappointed doesn't like about Bum Steer:
Myself and two buddies visited the Bum Steer for dinner while out on a hunting trip. Not only did the three of us buy the worst ribeye steaks anyone of us have ever had, we paid $27 for the horrible meal. To make things worse the owner and her daughter working there were the most rude we have ever encountered eating anywhere. We will never eat there again and we’re most happy to spend our money in neighboring towns o... View all feedback.

Overall, I had a decent dining experience at the Bum Steer in Flaxville, MT. The food served there was undeniably good, living up to the positive recommendations I had received. However, my enjoyment was somewhat undermined by the unpleasant demeanor of the owner, who displayed consistent rudeness in all her interactions. Having been referred to this restaurant with a warning about the owner's character, I was prepared for some level of brusqueness. Yet, throughout my visit, I observed her impoliteness towards both customers and staff alike. It was clear that this behavior was not an isolated incident, but rather her usual demeanor. While the culinary offerings of the Bum Steer did manage to impress me, the hostile atmosphere created by the owner overshadowed the dining experience. It's disheartening when the friendly ambiance of a restaurant is compromised by such behavior, particularly when it comes from the person in charge. In conclusion, if you can overlook the owner's rude demeanor, the Bum Steer in Flaxville offers a menu that can satisfy your taste buds. However, for those who prioritize a pleasant dining environment and positive interactions with staff, it might be wise to consider other options in the area.
Great steak, excellent french fries. Nice people. They have Bent Nail in cans!

Rural MT at its finest. Typically, the person cooking is also waiting on you. So sit down. Dont be in a rush. Have a drink while waiting for your food. Food itself is standard fare. Most upscale thing on the menu is a Ribeye or Fried Halibut. Since its Montana, you can bring kids. Its not a rowdy place.
