Pinotta - FITZROY NORTH
Pinotta
Description
Pinotta is a cozy and inviting restaurant that offers a nice dining experience. While some reviewers found the mains to be lacking finesse, the overall food was considered good. There were complaints about limited wine options and some issues with the service. However, the atmosphere was commended, and the set menu received positive feedback, especially the roast chicken dish. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making it a pleasant place for a meal. Some minor issues were noted, such as missing menu items and slight inconsistencies in food preparation. Overall, Pinotta offers a warm and welcoming space to enjoy Italian dishes, although improvements in some areas could elevate the dining experience further.

So they are no longer open even though not closing apparently to the end of the month! Still taking bookings online including mine . Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Attended the Ode to Autumn event as a part of this year 's Melbourne Food and Wine festival... Wish that I had read other reviews prior to booking. The wine was good and the food was okay. Unfortunately, the portions, the creativity and the service at this price point are absolutely unforgivable. $370 for two people and we both walked out hungry.... the Main was a glorified spring roll slightly larger than cocktail size . Not only were we told a different narrative about the wine compared to the diners next to us, it seemed we were also missing foccacia ? , the oysters weren 't properly shucked, and the dessert parfait was half frozen. Additionally, nothing was explained about how or why these courses related to the theme. Looking around at other tables, we were confused thinking that we had been served an entree but it was truly an ode to disappointment instead. Right now, dining and going out is a bit of a luxury. If you decided to be featured as a part of a food and wine festival , please actually show why you deserve to be there. We have high standards for food and honestly, you would have better luck at your local pub. Writing this while waiting for my $29 large takeaway pizza which will actually satisfy us for the night. After reading great reviews, yes, we crossed the river to visit Pinotta, and so glad we did! The restaurant has a welcoming, friendly, unpretentious vibe and we were fortunate to have the owner, Heidi looking after us. The food was fabulous, thank you chefs, and I only wish is the place had been around when I lived in North Fitzroy quite some years ago!
