Absolutely loved the buffet on weekends. Delicious and authentic Indian food in Hudson valley. Food is so fresh and less oily. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for healthy meal as food is less oily and tasty. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Tanjore:
We used to order from here frequently and always enjoyed our meals. However, recently, we've noticed that the portion sizes have shrunk significantly—there's hardly any meat, just a lot of sauce, and the rice containers that come with the meals are only half full. I understand that food prices have gone up, but if that's the case, consider raising your prices a little while still providing a satisfying meal. It's fru... View all feedback.

The food at Tanjore is phenomenal! Just ordered takeout for the first time. The flavor and portion sizes are excellent! I have been searching for good authentic Indian food for years now (I worked in an Indian restaurant about 8 years ago that was veryexpensive and high quality . Will definitely be checking out the buffet, having a date night here, and ordering takeout againsoon! (My fiance forgot to tip when he picked up our food, so I will be leaving a large tip next time we go here. Highlyrecommend!!!
Very Disappointed in the Manager's response to an order that was messed up by the Restaurant. The item I ordered and was charged for was not what I received. When I got home which was 45 min away from the restaurant, I called them to let them know. The gentleman I spoke to said he was sorry and asked if I would be in the area the next day and said to call and I could pickup the correct order. I thought that was fair. I called the next evening and he said unfortunately his manager said all hewould do is credit me the $2 difference. I was very surprised. I told the gentleman they can keep the $2 and to let hismanager know that they just lost a customer.
We used to order here alot and aways enjoyed. But recently the portions have been very small, barely no meat just sauce and the rice packs that are given with a meal are half empty. I understand that food prices have increased, but then raise your pricesa bit and continue providing a full meal. It is very disappointing when you spend nearly $100 for the family to have dinner andall rice packs are half empty.

I visited this restaurant for the first time, and I must say the food was excellent. I'll definitely be returning!
The atmosphere is calm, clean, and well-organized. The layout is tidy and efficiently arranged, making it feel like you're the first one to walk in. The service met my expectations as well; it was attentive and thorough. Cyril and another young gentleman took excellent care of me, even though my order was simple and small. I truly felt welcomed.
The food is excellent, the service is amazing, and the quality is unbeatable for the price point.

Tanjore has established itself as a dependable choice for Indian cuisine in the Fishkill/Newburgh area. After three visits over the years, I've found that they consistently uphold a high standard...

While waiting for my main course, I was quickly served pappadum accompanied by three delicious sauces, and my Samosa appetizer arrived promptly. Both the lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka masala I ordered were outstanding, and I had to request a to-go box because the portions were larger than what you usually get at most Indian restaurants. The breads were generous as well; I tried the onion kulcha, paratha, and naan, all of which were delightful. The mango lassi was perfectly balanced—neither too sweet nor too cold (unlike some places where it resembles a McDonald's milkshake). I can't wait to return!
I tried Tanjore and wow i was surprised. The workers were nice and the atmosphere was nice too. They were actually just wrapping up the buffet but i placed a to go order. Tikka chicken masala, mango chutney, lasoni gobi, masala dosa and garlic naan. It was all very good and I will definatly be back
Go straight there NOW! If you’re reading this review, it means that you’re interested in good grub! Just tap the location and set your navigation and drive. As another review said, this is hands-down the best Indian food in Dutchess County. My family has searched for years to find a match to an Indian restaurant on the upper West side of Manhattan that we went to almost every week for years before it suddenly closed down and broke our hearts
The food is delicious! Best Indian cuisine in the county. Though the communication with their customer base could use improvement. PS: I would suggest posting to social media [Facebook] if the restaurant schedule changes suddenly and adjusting the online ordering for the next business day if no one is at the restaurant instead of an auto reply that accepts the order as if the restaurant is open. A message with updated information on the answering machine would be nice too.
I really enjoy the chicken tikka masala here. It features tender pieces of Tanjore chicken in a creamy tomato sauce, served over rice. If you're looking for a classic dish and love chicken and tomato sauce, I highly recommend this option—it's always my go-to favorite. It has a delightful sweetness with just a subtle kick of spices. The staff have consistently been friendly whenever I visit. I also tried the lunch buffet, which offered a wide variety of regular menu items, including desserts and bread.
