Contribute FeedbackBehind the Mercato Centrale, in a strip of restaurants and small shops is this gem of a restaurant. The clientele is primarily the local community, mostly the guys working in the carts around the market. The food is great. We had both the rotisserie chicken and the cous-cous with some sort of meat, probably goat. Also salads. The chicken was worth writing home about, by far the best we encountered in a month-long Firenze stay. Crispy skin with delightful spicing, cooked perfectly. It came with an interesting pita variant, about an inch thick that we hadn't encountered before. A welcome change from the stale unsalted bread common to Firenze. The people there were very nice and made us feel welcome, though we might well have been the only tourists they'd seen in the restaurant in a month.
My wife and I stumbled upon this restaurant by accident, as we were browsing the nearby shops. It is a small establishment with only a few tables. There was no menu, but the friendly girl at the counter gave us a listing of what they had to offer. They served various Moroccan tagines, rotisserie chicken, couscous, salads, rice, etc. There were more dishes, but we stopped listening after she pointed to the fresh and delicious rotisserie chickens. We ordered half rotisserie chicken, salad and two huge pieces of bread. Food was so fresh and delicious, and it only cost us 6 euros. What a great value for a delicious meal :
Una scoperta così piacevole da mantenere il suo ambiente segreto, servizio amichevole e una scelta che varia ogni giorno. Couscous fiabesco, come tutti gli altri piatti e il tè. I prezzi sono davvero convenienti. Spero di tornare presto!
