The best pizza I have ever tasted and really reasonable prices made in Napolitan style. Ingredients fresh and tasty.
I was in Florence for two months and during my stay I frequented Divina Margherita Pizza. My coworkers introduced me to the restaurant on my first week and after that I would eat there 2-3 times a week. The staff at the pizzeria are friendly people, they greeted me by name and had my order memorized by my third visit. I would always get a panuozzo, which I highly recommend. Out of all the pizzerias I visited in Florence I would rank Divina Margherita Pizza first in food and staff. It's not near the touristy part of the city but if you have some time to kill you should definitely check this place out.
I think people are confusing this place with a place called Davina Pizza located in the Santa Croce neighborhood of Florence. My experience at Divina Margherita Pizza was nothing like previous reviewers. I stopped in on a Thursday night and the place was not busy at all. It is located in a rather dark and dismal neighborhood in Florence. It's really not a restaurant and more of a take away place. There are only 2 very small tables to sit at. Inside it was very dirty and run down. We didn't really look at the menu because we already knew we wanted Margherita Pizza when we set out. We ordered our pie right away and they started to make it. The drink cooler had maybe 10 drinks in it, a few cokes, water, and Birra Morretti and a couple Heinekens. A lot of the drinks had fallen over. The thing was as much of a mess as the rest of the place. We sat at one of the small tables and our pie was brought to us shortly. They looked at us kind of strange that we were going to eat there. We weren't offered any plates or silverware and the napkin holders on both tables were empty. This made it kind of difficult to manage the hot pie. The pizza itself was a let down. There were only 2 extremely small pieces of basil on the whole pie. Not what I expect from a margherita pizza. I will say that the flavor of the pie was great. The crust was nutty, cheese fresh, and the sauce tasted of good tomato's. However, the crust was really thin and soggy in the middle so when you lifted a slice all the toppings just slid off of the crust into a puddle in the box. The only way to eat it was to fold it up into like a calzone and even then it was a total mess. If I had a plate or a fork, this would've been a little easier to manage. I really dislike giving a bad review, but this was honestly my experience, it's hard for me to imagine that others had such a different experience which leads me to believe that reviewers are confused with another similarly named shop on the other side of town.
