It took almost an hour to get the food, even t... read more I have been to this restaurant many times with good outcomes, but this latest time the service was very very bad. It took almost an hour to get the food, even though it was for lunch and the restaurant was not very busy. They opened the bottle of wine and didn't realize that one glass was missing, and as they were reminded, they did not think of serving the person without wine. It is small things like that which end up spoiling the experience. I hope it gets back to its former standards.

We enjoyed the food very much and appreciated the bias towards Ferrarese dishes. The waitress could have been more welcoming, we thought, and the general atmosphere was a little 'chilly ', but the food was good. The wine menu is rather daunting and very expensive, with no mention of a house wine, but we saw an Italian couple have some. We had a local bottle of Malvasia white that was pretty grim. We had a good meal but would probably choose somewhere else to try next time we 're in Ferrara.
