The Buck Hotel, a longstanding staple in the community, offers a blend of nostalgic charm and contemporary challenges. While many patrons praise the friendly service and reasonable prices, recent visits reveal inconsistencies in food quality, with some dishes falling short of expectations. Issues like uncomfortable lighting in the dining room and service delays have also been noted. Despite these setbacks, several diners left with fond memories, particularly during special occasions, thanks to the accommodating staff and festive atmospheres. As The Buck aspires to maintain its century-old legacy, there's hope for a return to culinary excellence.

I haven't been to dinner here in years but once in awhile for lunch. The food was great and the portions were huge. It was very crowded but the service was very timely. We had a group of six and we were all very happy with everything.

Really nice in the hall. we were in time for oysters/muscle bowl specials, so the price was right. eating was b plus, but service was very good.

My mom's 86th birthday yesterday. I asked the kamin and the hostess. thanks for how my mom gets cold! service was good, atmosphere fantastic and eat so delicious! Many thanks that you helped me make mom's birthday so special!

Incoming to the book for 65 years. Always a great place to go. We all have days off at times, and some of these reviews are unfair. I think the prices are extremely reasonable and everyone is always so very very nice. But I was very disappointed in thedining room when I was there for lunch last week. The porch that they put on, I hope will be different when I go again. We hadto have our table changed because of the light coming in from that porch was blinding. It was if someone had flashlights in myface. Of course we asked to be moved and of course we were moved without any question and had a very lovely lunch. But I do sohope that awnings of some kind are put onto that glass porch before I come back again. That kind of light makes the lovelydining room that I’ve known for years like a funeral parlor. I believe awnings on the outside of the porch would do the trickand put the dining room back to the same atmosphere it had before.

Good food, atmosphere and music. Waitresses and servers are friendly. Great views of neighborhood from upper deck and the Bathrooms are respectably clean for the amount of guests. The Buck Hotel is frequently visited by locals as a destination spotfor a good evening out. Several bars on the premises too. There is a sizable dance floor when you feel the need to do your“Elaine” dance. There are parts of the establishment sectioned off from visitors the wooden steps. Can’t wait to see /explore this area of the restaurant. Historical Record: The Buck Hotel has been a community landmark since 1735.
