T_imo - FASANO

Difficile poter fare di meglio, cibo ottimo, crudi super freschi, cantina divina, dulcis in fundo personale premuroso e super attento, prezzo giustissimo, ci torneremo sicuramente.

Abbiamo cenato altre volte in questo posto, anche a ferragosto, e siamo sempre rimasti soddisfatti, tranne in questa occasione. Accoglienza come sempre superlativa, ordino tartare di tonno, mi viene portato il piatto e presentato come tartare di manzo. Prima di cominciare chiamo il cameriere chiedendo conferma di cosa fosse e-piatto intatto- mi viene chiesto e ribadita la richiesta che non lo avessi toccato. Riportato il piatto in tavola, il cameriere mi riferisce di essersi confrontato con lo chef, ignaro del fatto che lo avessi visto dialogare con il maitre che, anziché venire al tavolo, ha deriso un cliente. Lascio correre e ringrazio pure (semplice educazione). Comincio la mia cena, non riesco a finire l’antipasto perché l’ottima qualità del tonno è stato rovinata da granelli di sale grosso sparsi qua e là sulla portata. Faccio notare la cosa sempre allo stesso cameriere il quale mi garantisce che sarà comunicato in cucina facendo attenzione che non accada per la seconda portata, sempre a base di tonno. Arriva la tagliata di tonno, idem come sopra, granelli di sale grosso sulla portata. Risultato: fino al giorno dopo sentivo il sapore di sale (che non è piacevole). Altro dettaglio: arriva il sommelier, chiediamo un vino fruttato, ci viene consigliato un vino che di fruttato non aveva nulla, anzi era legnoso. Abbiamo concluso la cena con delle ottime zeppoline. Dispiace.

Wife and I stayed at the Canne Bianche Hotel for a week: the T_Imo is their main restaurant used for breakfast and dinner (lunch is served in another restaurant). We could not fault the quality of the food, the cooking and the service at dinner. All matched the overall quality of the hotel. What was a potential problem was that the menus did not change at all so it could become repetitive. We had a hire car so we could go to other restaurants in the vicinity.

We were staying at the hotel so of course decided to try the in house restaurant. The restaurant was very busy (not because of the quality of the food but because most people in the hotel were stick with it as no hire car! . Service was very efficient until we got to our Secondi at which point we waited for well over an hour and when it did arrive I couldn't eat it as it was terrible. Wine is also VERY expensive considering wine in every other restaurant in Puglia is so cheap and stunning! Our wine was 40 euros despite the fact you can buy in most other restaurants for 8-15 euros. The front of house- an arrogant man told us that we were on holiday and should be patient/relax- excuse me but over an hours wait for a substandard meal is not my idea of holiday relaxation. He promised us complementary drinks which never materialised. His attitude stank and spoilt the hard work of the other waiters and waitresses. Don't bother eating here- you are in Italy- go explore- trust me it will be worth the short drive/taxi fare!
