Aqueous - Farmington
Aqueous
Description
Set in a scenic resort with golf-course views, this upscale restaurant dazzles with standout seafood—impressive towers, oysters and halibut—plus creative cocktails and an extensive wine list. Service is often personable and knowledgeable, with attentive bartenders and sommeliers who elevate the meal. Experiences vary, though: steak doneness and vegetable preparation have been inconsistent, some dishes feel over-fussed, and prices are high relative to what some diners expect. The dining room is beautiful but can be noisy at times.

I had a fantastic experience! The wait staff were wonderful, and I absolutely loved my time here. The food was delicious, and the drinks were just as great! They even crafted a custom smoked Old Fashioned for me that wasn't on the menu.
I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant, but unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. I ordered the expensive $75 filet mignon, which was served cut in half. Seriously, who does that? It completely ruined the experience for me, and my mom's filet was fatty as well. The vegetables that accompanied the steaks were all exotic, like white carrots and black potatoes, and while they could have been interesting to try, they weren't cooked properly. My dad wasn't impressed with the scallops either; he found the sauces that came with them to be too extravagant and gourmet for his taste. He ended up getting them plain, but still didn't like them.
We dined on a Sunday night and unfortunately were seated next to a loud and rude group of three, which detracted from the otherwise beautiful ambiance. The wine selection was excellent, and the limited menu offered us some good options. We chose a tuna dish that turned out to be quite average and a scallop dish that was similarly uninspiring. Given the prices of both dishes, I wouldn’t choose to return and will opt for one of the other restaurants at Nemacolin instead—Barratolo remains our favorite by far. The service was subpar, at best, and also quite average overall. On a positive note, they did surprise us with a lovely dessert to celebrate our wedding anniversary, which was a nice touch to end the meal.
This is the mid range priced restaurant at Nemacolin. Service was efficient. Grilled salad was not grilled...just lightly torched and very cold. Otherwise our meals were good. Ambience is lovely and Falling Rock Hotel is beautiful.
We had dinner at Aqueous 2 nights in a row during* our 3 night stay. The first night experience was so lovely that we decided to go back for a second night dinner. The sommelier/ waitress Lauren was delightful as she had excellent recommendations for our couples wine flight and dessert wine choices. So knowledgeable. And her helpers Ezme and Nolan were right on the ball and excellent as well. Everyone was So personable and friendly. Not stuffy at all. Would come back to Necomalin just to have dinner here again
