Description
Sudbury House presents a mixed dining experience, where the atmosphere and service can shine or falter. While some patrons rave about the exquisite tasting menu and attentive, knowledgeable staff, others express disappointment over the lackluster afternoon tea and underwhelming pizza. Complaints often highlight slow service, the absence of sufficient accompaniments for scones, and uninspired food presentations. However, many visitors appreciate the charming ambiance and thoughtful, personalized touches, like handwritten birthday cards. Overall, Sudbury House showcases impressive culinary potential, particularly regarding its hospitality and attention to dietary needs, leaving room for improvement in consistency across its offerings.

The food is good but the pizza is not up to standard. The tomato sauce on top was very salty and the pizza was uncooked. Eat everything you would like to choose from the menu but my advice is to avoid to order pizza.
We had afternoon tea which was very nice. The service was very good and the surroundings excellent. We stayed the night at the hotel which was very comfortable, lovely grounds, friendly staff, very nice breakfast
Excellent food and atmosphere by talented chefs. Good value for a top quality restaurant. Recommended for those special occasions!
On arrival we were impressed with building and also the interior. We waited ages before a gentleman came to show us to our table. Tea and coffee was served along with the afternoon tea Scones were very chewy not enough cream for four scones. Tiny read rolls with various fillings and small slices of cakes None of it did any thing for our taste beds Fortunately for Sudbury house this had been prepaid,as I would have not paid anywhere near the asking price. Good cup of tea and coffee I have had far superior at the local garden centre .
