Brooktown Kitchen Coffee - Fallbrook
Brooktown Kitchen Coffee
Description
Nestled in Fallbrook, this cozy café serves robust coffee and fresh, flavorful dishes—from generous avocado toast and tomato bisque to satisfying bowls and scones. Varied seating, tabletop games and a welcoming staff create a comfortable spot for casual meetups and groups. Service operates on separate coffee and food counters, and customers note inconsistent hours, limited baked-good availability and increased noise after a remodel. Ownership responsiveness and friendly staff suggest improvements are underway.
Feedback
The scones, avocado toast, and selection of coffee and drinks here are amazing! I absolutely love the atmosphere; it feels comforting, and I always leave feeling rejuvenated after a visit. The place has a charming and cozy vibe that makes it well worth a stop!
The food was outstanding. However, the service was a bit odd. There are essentially two separate operations under one roof. If you're looking for coffee and a meal, you'll need to queue in two different lines. The staff on the food side appeared disinterested in offering suggestions or explaining how things work. I tried the tomato bisque soup and avocado toast, and both were fantastic with a very fresh taste! I would definitely order them again in a heartbeat.
This is an excellent little gem in Fallbrook. The food was SO GOOD! Wife and I each had a bowl, Brooktown style, half rice, half salad. We were inspired. I'm a 210lb man, and I looked at the bowl and thought, I should've ordered more. I was wrong. The bowl was the perfect portion size and I can't wait to get back there to try the salads. They looked amazing. If you like good, healthy food, then quit reading this and get going there now. you'll love it, great vibe, and great food.
Update: The owner has contacted me and thanked me for my feedback. She is actively making changes to improve procedures and interior. Too many items to mention here. Since I am a frequent customer, I will gladly report on improvement. +2 stars for being so responsive! Second time in one week they didn't open on time. Today they were still closed 45 minutes after scheduled open. Many changes, many not for the better. Interior remodel has caused noise level to spike. Kitchen doesn't open for breakfast until 8 am (even on weekdays)! Baked goods seem to be only purchased once per week. So there is a big selection on Tuesday and by Friday it is down to nothing. More open floor plan and new sitting room are nice changes. Replacing carpet with vinyl floor is more sanitary, but it has become very loud. Staff is very friendly. Hope they can get this figured out. I know they can do better!
I hadn't visited this place in quite some time, and it seems to have changed names and owners multiple times over the years. I searched Google for a coffee spot in Fallbrook, and Brooktown appeared, so I decided to give it a try. Upon arriving, I saw that it's called "Coffee, Corks, and Cuisine." One of the staff mentioned that the establishment has had this name for about a year. Anyway, the latte I ordered was quite good.
